• 福岡藩主黑田家的墓地裡安葬著皈依真言宗的第二代藩主忠之，第三代藩主光之和第八代藩主治高。
• 在忠之的墓前還排列著為其殉葬的5名家臣的墓碑。墓地一直保留著 3位藩主安葬時的樣子。

福岡藩藩組先 黑田官兵衛墓

• 加入豐臣秀吉的麾下，跟隨織田信長進攻播磨。
• 他曾經是姬路城城主，後來獻城給織田信長。
• 身為軍師，他協助豐臣秀吉完成統一日本的大業。在豐臣秀吉平定九州後，他成為豐前中津城的主人，在九州舉足輕重。
• 在「關原之戰」期間，他迅速平定了九州各地，並企圖乘亂奪取天下霸權。
• 福岡藩第一任藩主是他的兒子黑田長政

• 相傳創建於西元757年，當今建築是 1587 年由豐臣秀吉建造。被視為博多總鎮守。保佑長壽與生意。

在神社一角有一座很大的「明治二十七八年征清紀念之碑」

• 在甲午戰爭期間，福岡的博多港是日軍前往朝鮮半島與中國大陸最重要的兵力輸送與物資補給據點。當時大量的兵員從這裡出發，福岡因此成為戰爭後勤的樞紐
• 紀念碑立於 1896 年（明治 29 年），即戰爭結束後的隔年
